Delivering certified, high-quality seeds to strengthen smallholder farming and agricultural resilience in Uganda.
BRAC Social Business Enterprises Uganda works with contract growers to multiply certified seeds, which are then processed and packaged at its Nakaseke seed plant before distribution nationwide. Core products include cereals, beans, rice, and a range of fruits and vegetables, featuring both local varieties and hybrid seeds with improved productivity potential and climate resilience. The enterprise also produces tissue-cultured banana plantlets, increasing access to high-yielding, climate-resilient varieties.
BSBE’s mission is to enhance smallholder farmer productivity, income generation, and climate resilience by ensuring a sustainable supply of affordable, high-quality seed.
