BRAC Social Business Enterprises Uganda Limited

Delivering certified, high-quality seeds to strengthen smallholder farming and agricultural resilience in Uganda.

BRAC Social Business Enterprises Uganda (BSBE) is a socially responsible, for-profit organisation supporting smallholder farmers to increase their productivity, earnings and climate-resilience.

Established in 2010, BSBE launched BRAC Seed and Tissue Culture Lab to bring high-quality seeds and tissue-cultured plantlets to smallholder farmers. In 2014, BSBE transitioned from a non-profit into a social business to ensure sustainability and expand into seed research, processing and nationwide distribution. BSBE works with contract growers to multiply certified seeds, which are then processed and packaged at its seed plant before distribution nationwide.
