Programme scholar Amoding Agnes Cynthia has been selected as the Young Justice Leader

Date: 18 Apr 2022

With support from Mastercard Foundation since 2012 BRAC Uganda has been operating the Scholarship programme and supported over 5,000 youths from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve quality secondary education. The programme aims to support these youths to achieve positive social economic transformation, to groom them into next generation leaders who are committed to giving back to their communities. The alumni of this programme later on created the platform The MasterCard Foundation Alumni at BRAC Uganda (MFABU)

Today, we are glad to share the success story of one of our MCF scholars’ alumni Amoding Agnes Cynthia. Cynthia has been selected as one of the the Young Justice Leaders, that  brings together young leaders working for justice. As a part of the first cohort of leaders she will focus on influencing the SDG Summit in 2023 — a space to engage and contribute to international dialogue and research specifically around justice.

Amoding Agnes Cynthia is a 24 year old lawyer currently enrolled at the Law Development Centre studying the bar course in Uganda. She recently completed her Law Degree at Makerere University, and was a Next Generation Fellow at the United Nations Foundation who was invited by the UN Secretary-General to be a consultant for Our Common Agenda and Our Future Agenda.

Cynthia is active in the Scholars alumni group in Uganda. She also served on the advisory board of Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescent in School (ELA S) project in BRAC Uganda as we expanded ELA to schools.
