BRAC in the Philippines received the Plaque of Recognition from the Ministry of Social Services and Development on 28 December 2024. The recognition was given for its contributions to early childhood development in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The recognition was announced during the provincial assembly where 1,198 participants gathered, including municipal social welfare officers headed by the provincial social welfare officer, Eman Panondi. Attendees from nationally funded programmes, social workers, and delegates from the 24 municipal local government units and various partner agencies were present.
“Our programme is designed to pioneer playful, inclusive, and quality early learning opportunities for children from 3-5 years old, through play labs. We will continue to deliver impactful and sustainable programmes in early childhood development, particularly the marginalised and underserved communities of BARMM,” shared Gaudencio Rodelas Jr, Country Officer In- Charge and Manager, Resource Development and Partnership, BRAC Philippines.
In April 2023, BRAC Philippines launched the early childhood development programme in BARMM, providing accessible and sustainable quality education for children from geographically isolated, disadvantaged, and conflict affected regions in close collaboration with the Ministry of Social Services and Development.
