Sabbir Ahmed, Chief Financial Officer of BRAC, is a seasoned finance professional with over 26 years of experience in finance and operations management. His career spans start-ups, local conglomerates, diversified business groups, and multibillion-dollar global organisations. Mr Ahmed has a proven track record in optimising operations, establishing strong financial controls, and implementing efficient systems and processes. His core expertise includes productivity enhancement, business performance turnaround, and change management.
Prior to joining BRAC, Mr Ahmed served as the Chief Financial Officer at Ha-Meem Group, where he integrated financial systems, streamlined reporting processes, and enhanced decision-making analytics. He also led governance improvement initiatives, implemented performance dashboards across 25 garment units, and introduced key governance policies.
Earlier in his career, Mr Ahmed played a pivotal role in the consolidation of three battery companies under the Rahimafrooz Storage Power Division, leading to a significant business turnaround. At ACI Logistics Limited, he established a new legal entity and rolled out comprehensive business processes within just 18 months, laying the foundation for the retail brand Shwapno.
Mr Ahmed also held leadership roles as Group CFO at Babylon Group and CFO for the Storage Power Business at Rahimafrooz.
He holds a Master of Commerce degree from the University of Dhaka and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).
