Julia Roberts
President and CEO, BRAC USA
Julia's journey in global development began more than 25 years ago when she arrived in Guyana, eager, then humbled, learning from the communities in which she lived for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
That experience shaped her belief in the power of proximity and local leadership, leading her to pursue a Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and, ultimately, spend decades living and working across Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa, partnering with communities and leaders to co-create sustainable change at organizations like USAID, Centers for Disease Control, and Population Services International. Along the way, she's seen firsthand the power of local communities to build effective solutions to their biggest challenges—and how philanthropy can help scale them.
Today, as President & CEO of BRAC USA, Julia leads a mission-driven team working to create opportunities for people living in poverty across the Global South. Her focus is on connecting visionary, impact-focused partners and philanthropists with catalytic opportunities. She directly oversees the Individual Philanthropy and Communications teams, as well as serving as Chair of BRAC's Global Resource and Partnerships Committee.
Julia holds a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy certification, which she leverages to help donor advisors, family offices, and wealth managers align their clients' values with meaningful, measurable outcomes. She believes in the power of bold philanthropy to shift systems, and is passionate about helping donors move from intent to lasting, positive change.
