Enid Muthoni Ndiga is the Center for Reproductive Rights’ Chief Program Officer, Global Advocacy & Regional Programs, and leads its Global advocacy and four regional programs based in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
A Kenyan national, Ms Ndiga has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of law, development, human rights, gender and women’s rights. Before joining the Center, Ms Ndiga served as Regional Manager for Africa at the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), the only intergovernmental organisation exclusively devoted to promoting the rule of law. At IDLO, Ms Ndiga oversaw programmes across seven countries in Africa.
Prior to her leadership position at IDLO headquarters in Rome, Ms Ndiga was the IDLO Country Director in Kenya for five years. She has also worked for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Norwegian Church Aid, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, and the Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA Kenya. She began her legal career as a litigator in private practice.
Ms Ndiga serves as a board member of Partnership for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (PMNCH) a global partnership dedicated to ensuring that every woman, child, and adolescent has access to essential health services, and BRAC International that aims to empower people and communities in situations of poverty, illiteracy, disease, and social injustice.
She received a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Nairobi, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law, and an MA in Gender and Development from the University of Nairobi. Currently she is pursuing an Executive Master’s from ESCP Madrid Spain on International Project Management.
In addition to her other accomplishments, Ms Ndiga has established herself as a prolific author with seven published books covering a wide range of social subjects.
