Bangladesh is one of the world’s youngest countries, with young people making up one-third of the population
BRAC believes that young people are not only the future, but also key drivers of change today. We launched a youth platform in 2020 to create a space where young people can turn their ideas for social development into action. The platform equips them with the tools, training, and networks needed to build the future they envision, and prepares them holistically for the changing demands of life, civic duties and work.

young people enrolled in the changemaking programme across 50+ cohorts as of 2025.

community initiatives have been led by young people through Amra Notun Network since 2018.

changemakers have graduated from Amra Notun Network to date by driving positive social change in their communities across 17 districts in Bangladesh.
A group of youth are changing the perceptions of society
A group of young people from southern Bangladesh received value-based leadership training from Amra Notun Changemakers' programme to enhance their skills to deal with the adverse effects of climate change. Now they are working in the Bihari community to empower them, also making them aware of the effects of climate change.”

How Does the Changemakers’ Programme Work? The Journey of Changemakers
The Changemakers’ Programme is a 3-month youth initiative for Bangladeshis aged 18 to 30 who spend time in interactive classroom training and learn about leadership, empathy, public speaking, critical thinking, and more, and then work in small groups to design and carry out real-world community action projects.
[The programme's] mission is to help the next generation of youth realise their potential as contributing members of society who use their ongoing experiences, value sets, and leadership skills to initiate positive change in society. -

They have engaged disadvantaged and vulnerable women affected by climate change in this work. The energetic youth of Nandaniq want to empower more disadvantaged women and ensure their financial independence in order to achieve a zero-waste world in the future.
